A very pretty carp syndicate situated in the Colne Valley in Earls Colne, near Colchester. The syndicate consists of 2 waters that were excavated for gravel in the 1930s and have now matured into stunning tree lined lakes with an excellent head of carp to 30+ lbs. They have been described by members as 20′s runs waters, this at times can be accurate, however, as you will know all waters switch off for whatever reason and many of our members join, not simply for the fishing, but to enjoy the tranquility and to appreciate the great variety of wildlife that these lakes have to offer. We have a large amount of mid to high twenties with a number of 30lb+ carp across both waters. The lakes have similar characteristics with many islands and several other features. As mentioned, they are mainly gravel pits but you will also come across plenty of silt, sand, mussel beds etc. We limit membership numbers to 35 per season, across the 2 waters, and therefore there is always plenty of swims available and it is not uncommon to be the only one down there. Our season runs runs from 1st May – 31st March. The waters are therefore closed through April, at which point we run a number of work parties to carry out general maintenance to the waters We do not have too many rules but those we have are designed to protect the fish and look after the environment. We have worked hard to create a comfortable environment for our syndicate members to feel relaxed and enjoy. Therefore, anyone found to be breaking any of the fishery rules will be asked to leave, have their membership cancelled immediately and not be entitled to any refund of fees. In order to join, new members must meet one of our officers at the lakes to be shown around and understand the fishery rules. This gives us the chance to see if you are the type of person we would like to join the syndicate as well as being an ideal opportunity for you to decide if this is the syndicate for you. Additionally, we can offer day tickets on our third and smallest lake of approximately 1 acre. This water is stocked with a good head of carp up to 20lbs, bream and a large number of silver fish.
