Villereal lake is a 8 acre venue set in the heart of the French countryside just outside the stunning picturesque Bastille village of Villereal , the average depth of the lake is 5-7ft and is tree lined with a variety of birch , larch and old oak trees which surround the lakes circumference and provide a pleasing look to the eye .  Although the bottom is quite uniformed you can find a variety of drop offs , gravel bars and soft mud clay areas which are hot spot areas for the lakes resident carp , on one side is a 4 post area in the lake where many fish are caught from, the other side, several overgrown trees provide a great area to catch large carp . “Spring has certainly sprung. Buds are turning into green shoots and in only a week or two Lac du Coron will be surrounded by green lush trees once again. The fish are a little more active too and are starting to spread out, exploring their new enviroment as weed and wild mint starts to creep out from the margins. This private, four-and-a-half acre ancient water is over 250 years old and holds carp in excess of 50lbs. The fishing is truly superb. About 100 carp are swimming around: a very good head of forties and thirties including 3 grass carp. The lake water is coloured, the bed is a mixture of silt and gravel with no weed, depth ranges from 13 feet to shallows. There are no bream, poisson chat or cats – but there is a good head of roach and rudd, so you can fill in your time fishing for them! The lake was formed over 30+ years ago and was stocked with a large number of carp,roach, perch & pike. The lake was privately owned and when the former owner passed away, the lake was not fished for over 10 years. The lake is well stocked with Common Carp, Mirror Carp (up to 38lb), Perch (to 3.5lb) and Roach, the condition of the fish is excellent. The Carp at Les Gravelles are willy and do not throw themselves at your hooks, to catch these Carp you will need to out fox them. Fishing advice can be given prior to your holiday by contacting John Bishop. Depending on you preference, you can fish from the grassy bank in front of the house and by the pool, or, you can disappear off into the woods, and find yourself a completely secluded spot, surrounded by overhanging trees or behind the island. The grounds are protected by gates at the front of the property, with a long winding drive from the road down through the woods to the villa, lake and pool. You can roam in the natural woodland where you will find a brook, and a filter pool which feeds into the lake. Please note: As these woods are still in their natural state, they also include brambles.

The 10 acre carp lake accommodates up to 5 carp anglers giving lots of space and allowing the freedom to move swims. Fishing is from two sheltered banks where swims have been cut into the tree line and from the dam wall. Yes, the lake has history, it’s pre Napoleonic & it’s beautiful, lying in a deep bowl surrounded by woods and rolling fields. Etang de Planchon is a beautiful and secure four acre carp fishing lake in France, set in ten acres of tranquil countryside. The carp lake surrounding is mainly laid to lawn with an area of woodland and has stunning views through the valley. The French carp fishing lake is fed by two natural streams and an underground spring which provide good water levels all year round. It has the classification of a fish farm due to the very high water quality and optimum temperatures encouraging incredible growth rates. Carp fishing is permitted day and night, maximum limit of 5 anglers with 3 rods each. The stocking levels are sensibly set with 2 tonnes of carp up to 50lb+. The lake has also been stocked with pike, although the largest stocked was 2Kg they will soon grow to be a sizeable catch.

Alder Lake is a ten acre coarse fishing lake located near Nouzerines in Creuse, France. The Lake can accomodate 5 anglers and fishing is available from two banks and the dam wall. There is a cabin with gas cooker and fresh water. The toilets, showers and freezer facilities are at the owner’s farm which is about five minute walk from the lake.

Barnview lake is a private carp fishing lake situated in a quiet spot in the Charente about 12 kilometers south of Confolens. The lake is about three and three quarter acres and can take 6 anglers per week with a maximum of 3 rods. The lake is registered with the D.D.A.F so no permit is required. The owner is in the middle of removing all fish under 25lb. This will put the lake in the forefront of carp fishing in France. If your alarm goes it will be a minimum of 25 lb fish.
