Lenton Lakes Welcome to Our Day Ticket and Members Carp Fishery Lenton lakes fishery consists of two very different lakes which sit side by side on a site just off the A1 near Brampton, Cambs. The site is about 1/2 mile from Brampton centre, which contains a decent supermarket. A list of local takeaways who will deliver to site is avaiable upon request. There is a clean toilet on site, however for those who do not like sharing there is the option to hire your own for a small fee. Either the owner or one of his bailiffs are on site regularly. The site is open 24/7 and those wishing to fish may just turn up and pay on the bank. Although the original lake ( locally known as the A1 pit ) has been in existence for some 40 years or more the lease to the site was only acquired by the current owner in April 2010, who has embarked on an ambitious programme designed to make the site one of the best carp/ mixed fisheries in the area. The smaller of the two lakes, is a very picturesque lake of approx three acres. it is surrounded by mature […]

Willow Park Fishery is a family run business, purchased in 2010 by Bob, Sarah and Edd Orford. Before embarking on this venture, Bob was a gardener and maintenance man, Edd, a past student of Sparsholt Agricultural College and Merrist Wood with experience in the pub trade and Sarah, worked in the accounts department at her parents’ business and helped with fund raising for local charities. Bob and Edd both were baliffs for a local angling club, but it has always been a dream for all three to own and run their own fishery. Edd runs the tackle shop but is there to lend a hand both out onsite and in the cafe, where his experience working in the kitchen and as a bar manager in the pub trade comes in very handy! Sarah has a love of cooking and this is reflected in the menu available at the cafe. Looking after the maintenance both inside and out is in the hands of Bob, who also lends a hand in the tackle shop, giving helpful advice to anglers.

A Jewel in the crown of day ticket carp fishing. Sandhurst Lake needs no introduction as it has fast become well known due to the fantastic day ticket fishing it provides. Very few day ticket waters give you the chance of a 40lb carp but the Sandhurst venue record currently stands at 44lb with several more fish over the 40lb mark. It is a relatively shallow lake with depths from 2 to 10ft, with an average of approximately 5ft. There is one island from which fishing is permitted, and numerous sand bars and features that can be easily located from a choice of more than 30 swims. The fishery also offers secure parking with friendly and approachable bailiffs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLvmwQ-j5FQ It’s no surprise that Yateley Sandhurst has been attracting anglers from across the country for many years and will continue for many years to come. Planned developments such as improving swims, paths and site facilities will see this fishery remain as one of the best day ticket fisheries in the country. Improvements such as stock management and tree work will enabled the resident carp of this awesome day ticket water to go forward and gain further size and girth to provide […]

Waterbeach Angling Club (Leland Water) was formed in June 1936, by a party of local anglers meeting on the river bank. Then known as ‘The Beach Angling Club’, the intention was to protect local angling interests against the big clubs from Cambridge, London and Birmingham. Land owners were very cooperative towards the Club and soon agreed to lease several excellent stretches of the Cam below Bottisham locks. By 1939 membership was no longer restricted to Waterbeach residents and had risen from 37 to a respectable 184. Following the war, in 1948, a further mile and a half of river above Bottisham lock was added to the fishing available to members. Since then, the club has maintained many of these waters and added others, notably a stretch of the Old West with a series of adjoining ‘lagoons’ at Stretham and Leland Water just off the Waterbeach to Landbeach Road including Atkin’s Water and Magpie Lake, and Hatley’s Junior Pit in Landbeach. The club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1986 and 25 years later we are celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2011.
