The lovely, 22-acre Mar-Pêche, originally named Lac du Martin-Pêcheur, lies in the valley of the famous river Yonne, near Montereau only 3½ hours drive from the ports of Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque. The lake is less than 10 minutes from the A5 autoroute. https://vimeo.com/149753789 Virtually everyone that visits Mar-Pêche remarks on how comfortable the place is… and it’s probably the only fishery in France to have power and water in every swim! The gently sloping, grass swims with large amounts of space behind each fishing area offer what can only be described as ‘sheer comfort’.There is ample room in every swim to erect the largest of bivvies, to park your car and spread out your tackle. This, combined with a maximum of only 8 anglers on the whole lake, ensures there’s plenty of room for everyone. On three banks you will see the customary rows of French poplars, far enough away from the water to allow comfortable casting, yet close enough to offer good shade in mid-summer. The shorter west bank, on which there are no swims, has been allowed to grow more naturally and borders Lac Cachette, where you can sample the action of this wild, overgrown lake, heavily […]

Lac Du Charlou was purchased at the beginning of 2005 knowing that it had bag loads of potential to become a truly stunning location to bivvy up at and catch some very big carp. So, that is what we set out to do, and have now achieved our goal after a lot of hard graft, travelling, and also parting with a lot of hard earned money. The lake was named Lac Du Charlou after our two daughters, Charlotte and Louise, lucky beggars! Having been carp fishing to France enough times to know what, for me, makes a great week for a carper I wanted to put it in to practice by supplying this at a sensible cost, and enjoying it along the way by making it a week to remember for every visitor. We have now achieved our aim to provide a superb fishery with some stonking carp and faultless surroundings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nf2E62L9-k This stunning sixteen acre gravel pit has clear blue water, excellent for your photos, and is tree lined around the entire lake set within 24 acres of beautiful French woodland and countryside. There are some lovely views across the lake to lay and gaze at from your bivvy […]
